At the beginning there was the question of whether there is any common denominator in contemporary architecture in the form of a “generation link” or whether “generation gaps” are typical of it, caused by different socio-political conditions under which Czech architects have been working for the last fifty years. The project is based on personal recalls of 53 architects. Thus oral history of Czech architecture has been coming up.
The research project of CCEA maps the opinions and work of front
persons of Czech architecture on the background of socio-political
change in last 50 years. Conceptions of the exhibition consciously
refuse the strategy of presenting architecture in a form of successful
realizations, professionally polished photos, visualizations and
projections. The focus of attentions is the architects personality: his
approach, notions and opinions on creation process, situation in the
business and conditions in which he creates the architecture. Recording
the authentic enunciations of architects the authors of the project try
to build the base of oral history of Czech architecture from 1970´s to
the present.
The exhibition Generation+ was introduced as a part
