Urbanity - Twenty Years Later- 2009 - 2010

research project 2009–2010 Prague – Berlin – Bratislava – Budapest – Ljubljana – Warsaw – Vienna CCEA is currently engaged in two-year research project examining changes of the seven Central European capitals over the last twenty years. During the process of European unification we witnessed removing of state, national and other borders. Old, in cultural, social, political meaning, retire to the new – global. Live without freedom under the dictate of political totalities alternated freedom under the dictate of market totalities, materialized into the urban space. Is it appropriate to be ashamed for post-revolution architectural work, mistakes made for the sake of maximum profit, but also as a result of inexperience and naivety? What is the ideal image of central European city? Project creates a place for reflection of contemporary urban space and articulates its new perspectives.

We don´t know how we could contribute to its improvement. We are criticizing, but we aren´t able to deeply and impartially evaluate the pros and cons. On an lecture will be not only students but also teachers who work with us to cooperate fully in the development of educational curricula. This ensures that even after the project will be architecture on the schools.
